Air Charger (MAP sensing variable speed control)
I have come across many performance parts and tried many on my vehicle and bike as well, including turbo charging my past 1100cc ZX-11 bike.. but I've never tried a AirCharger by ADM S$680(A so-call Electric-driven Supercharger/RamAir).
I heard is a good performance kits and it's also popular among the car enthuastic in Singapore. And also by a mail from a reader who requested a Speed controller circuit for the AirCharger, I decided to build a set for myself and see how it goes..
By looking at the similar performance kits (ADM) available, and their installation diagram. It's just another "No Brainer" device so I could be able to duplicate a similar kits of the same performance..
I've already ordered some component and parts ready to be shipped over...
There are the main component I've ordered, other bits and pieces could be easily acquire at your local hardware or electronic store..
1) I've build my own electronic controller /w load regulated
speed control, parts from a
old ATX PC psu, but for those who don't know what they are doing.. could simply
buy a kits from Jaycar Australia,
Kits No: KC5225 - 10A 12V Speed controller
cos one of their kits is the most suitable for this application and cost only AUS$21.95,
modified for automatic speed variation with engine load (Check this article)
2) SeaChoice - 4" Inline Marine Bilge Blower, 240CFM (US$23.99) Ignition Spark proof, water resistant perfect for this application.
3) Silicon reducer hose 4" - 3"
You could easily build the whole system in less then S$100..
with a little use of your brain!!
And for those Supercharger/Turbocharger wannabe and scared kerna
caught by Traffic Police(1 week impound, Sinming LTA Inspection, $ummons... $ummons... $$ Hahah!!),
this is another cheap option to get a little positive boost.
